This past weekend I went to the Black Canyon Section of the Colorado River. We found this 70ft cliff along the river. Naturally, jumping off it seemed like the best idea. The water was deep, cool and refreshing. Its’ funny how standing on the top of the rock deciding weather to jump or not, brought us all right into the moment. It’s almost impossible to think about the future or the past, when you are in survival mode. A little shout out to you Eckhart Tolle! Is cliff jumping spiritual enlightenment? I’m not sure, but I sure felt intensely alive in those moments and for the hour after. (Even after the adrenaline wore off.)
** We will be heading to this same spot on our “Colorado River Canoe” trip this fall.
